Apparently the latest is that a charity have agreed to pay his £100k treatment but it can't go ahead because he is now a ward of court and they are going to urgently review the situation..... Monday.
Surely for the health of the child a meeting could be made before then? Whoever needs to be there could be, in person or videoconference, it shouldn't take 4 days to convene. Fucking joke system and people running it.

Does anyone know an intelligent and competent police officer? I've come into contact with loads and they are either arrogant and thick, or mostly a combination of the two.
I know we have our views on the Liverpool grief tourists but the actions of the South Yorkshire Police that day was absolutely scandalous!

There needs to be a proper inquiry into how this all got started off.
Were misrepresentations made to the courts to get the warrant?
Was the childs life really in iminent danger
Everybodies backtracking like crazy and all they have to fall back on is 'we only had the best interests of the child in mind' like fuck the NHS like throwing their weight around'
Do it our way or we'll get a court order and you wont see your child Despicable!

Yes. I agree..............
And when informed they had been found they continued the enforce the court order for a further three days and nights meaning that the parents were behind bars in a foreign country for committing NO crime. While there young and very ill child was in a foreign hospital all alone.
They have acted disgracefully. No crime was committed. I understand the need for finding the parents and the child but when they did that should've been it. End of.
It's just heavy handed incompetence.

Am I the only one that thinks all this publicity is what the parents were after? They would have avoided the media circus if they'd gone through the proper channels to take him abroad.
This treatment overseas isn't gonna be cheap and after the last week I'd imagine they'll find it much easier to do any fund-raising.

Russ there are occasions for various reasons that the police and nhss view supercedes that of the parents. This would appear to be one such case.
They were told child was extremely I'll and needed to find child. This they then did.
There are several laws the family could have broken depending on what procedures were put in place. If a protection order was issued for Example, by taking the child away the parents were breaking the law.

I've not got a huge problem with their actions but if the media and police hadn't made such a big fuss then not many people would even be aware of this.
Now the problem is we could see more and more parents thinking they know better than the doctors as they've been googling, and then removing their kids from hospitals without them being discharged to seek "better" treatment which could endanger them.

If they hadnt gone all out to find the kid and he had died, then everyone would be up in arms screaming that they did fuck all.
They had to file an arrest warrant becuase otherwise the Spanish poilce would have done fuck all.
Whilst I dont think holding the parents in prison was wise, I also say that they hold a great deal of responsibility for all of this. Removing your child against Doctors advice and then running off abroad may perhaps raise alarm bells.

Oh don't be a cunt. The UK old bill actioned a court order initiating the arrest of the parents. The Spanish police simply followed the terms of the court order.
The police are hiding behind all this "We had a repsonsibility to find the child' bollocks as a smoke screen.
The child was not missing. The child was with its parents. The child was taken from the Uk hospital by its parents. The child was taken to Spain by its parents.
I ask again, Where was the crime committed that required a court order to arrest the parents?
There was one reason the hospital reported this to the old bill and that was because they didn't like it up them. They didn't like being told they were shit and that the parents were going elsewhere to seek help. The Old Bill should've said to the hospital "Hold on, the child left the hopsital with its parents. Their choice. End of".
If the Old Bill wanted to get involved for the sake of the child then all they needed to do was make contact with the parents and find out what was going on.
Once again, a case of utterly disgraceful handling of priorities and over the top, heavy handed response to a situation that did not align itself to any crime.
And it's fucking dick-heads like you that allow this country to be pulled to pieces by letting theincompetent and facist authorities get away with it.
